CEO Mindset

You’ve implemented all the strategies. You’ve created systems in your business. Yet somehow, you’re still feeling one step above burnout—tired, disconnected, and stuck in survival mode.

The truth I’ve discovered after coaching over 300 real estate agents: sometimes it’s not your schedule or your systems that need fixing. Sometimes, it’s what’s going on inside.

Strategy without healing will still keep you in survival mode.

I want to thank you for the overwhelming response to my video about why healing as a CEO is essential to thriving in your business. In this follow-up, I’m diving deeper into the internal shifts you need to make to truly transform your business from the inside out.

You Can’t Systematize Your Way Out of Survival Mode

Let me be clear—I’m a systems person. I believe in strategies for running your business efficiently. But if you’re building these systems from a place of unhealed wounds or trauma, you’ll still feel stuck.

You have to change from the inside out.

This is why committing to self-mastery and personal development is so imperative for entrepreneurs. As we manifest the business, financial freedom, or time leverage we desire, we’re pouring from a blueprint that’s already inside us.

If that blueprint contains unhealed wounds, our business will reflect those limitations.

Three Deep Inner Shifts That Heal The Hustle

I’m not a therapist (just want to put that out there), but as a coach, I’ve noticed that I’m coaching the whole person—not just a business owner, but also a mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son, and even a child who has dealt with abandonment or rejection.

All of these experiences impact how you show up in your business. Let me walk you through three internal shifts that can transform everything:

Shift 1: From Urgency to Ownership

One sign you’re struggling emotionally is that everything feels urgent to you. Urgency teaches you to move fast, while healing teaches you to move intentionally—which often requires slowing down.

Ask yourself these questions:

– Am I driven or am I chasing safety in my schedule?

– Am I meticulous about my time because I want to be efficient, or because I need to control everything?

Start your business practices with reflection, not reaction. Ask: “What do I want my business to give me this week?”

Just because something feels urgent doesn’t mean it’s important.

Important things—like lead generation, healing, or strategic planning—don’t scream at you. The client needing to see a house TODAY or the offer that must be submitted RIGHT NOW—those things scream. We’re constantly reacting to the screamers, leaving no space for intentional growth.

When we’re not intentional, we cannot be purposeful. And without purpose, we’ll just take whatever life gives us instead of creating what we truly want.

Shift 2: From Proving to Building

What would you build if you didn’t fear being misunderstood?

I’m misunderstood by many clients who think if they don’t hear from me every day, I’m not working. But they don’t need to hear from me daily—they need to allow me to work.

You have to settle things within yourself and with God to understand that regardless of who misunderstands what you’re building, God will bring the right people into your life and business.

This is why my foundation scripture for everything I do is Deuteronomy 8:18—that God gives me the power to get wealth so that He can establish His covenant. It’s already His decision to establish financial wealth for me as His child. I don’t have to appease people because God’s promise stands regardless.

The God who made the promise will provide the people who make that promise a reality. So focus on what you’re building, and accept that it’s okay to be misunderstood as long as you’re creating something profitable that truly helps your clients.

Shift 3: From Addiction to Achievement to Alignment and Peace

This is perhaps the most significant shift of all.

As high performers, we often get a dopamine hit from people wanting us, calling us, needing us. But the reality? You’re truly successful in business when your business doesn’t need you at every moment.

If everything depends on you touching it or being present, you’ll struggle to grow.

Ask yourself the deeper question: Why does your business look like this? If you’ve dealt with abandonment, perhaps you never felt needed, so now you feel loved when somebody needs you. You don’t feel seen when nobody’s calling you.

But no amount of being needed can heal that wound. You have to do the internal work.

Some people live their entire lives just to be needed, which leads to overextension, boundary violations, and internal turmoil that directly impacts your business performance.

Ask yourself: What would peace look like in my business? How would I feel if nobody contacted me for a week, but I still made money?

Now you can begin to introduce boundaries, self-care, and detachment from people-pleasing.

Building a Business Means Building Yourself

You can’t build a business in isolation from who you are. To some degree, you ARE the business—it’s a reflection of you. As you grow, it grows. Where you’re limited, it’s limited.

So I want to ask you: Have you built yourself? Have you healed from your trauma wounds? Even if you haven’t completely healed, are you working toward it?

This is why personal development, training, community, and relationships with people who can see into your life are so crucial.

Healing is not a detour—it’s an upgrade for your business.

If you’re ready to stop hustling and start healing, to build from wholeness past burnout, take this message seriously. Because in order to even sit down for 30 minutes to track your business activities or create systems, you need the ability to hear yourself.

This is why I start every week with Bible study. I’m not going into the work week without bringing God into it in advance. I need Him.

All the systems I teach are great, but I want to help you build YOU in this season. I don’t know why God has me here, helping entrepreneurs heal these internal things, but I do know this is a necessary next step for your next level.

I appreciate you tuning in.
